MORE GREAT NEWS!!!

I just got my results back from my EIT (engineer in training) exam. That was the 9 hour exam I took back in April. I DID GREAT! The EIT is a state board exam that gives a national standard for being "good engineers". What this does for me is that I can now apply for the P.E. (professional engineering license), which gives the ability rule the world with an Iron fist.

Not really, but it is difficult to conceive of anything that a P.E. could not do. It is also a sort of a professional order of elite engineers who are the economic and industrial leaders of our society. Lots of opportunities would open up for me everywhere if I got that license. However, I will need to work at my engineering job for a few years before I can apply. That means that I will hang around hear for a couple of years enjoying life.

I Graduated

This is a pix of me with my honor cords and degree in Mechanical Engineering. The graduation was wonderful and the graduation speakers were fantastic Christians who just about gave an alter call for each student to know Jesus. I AM DONE!

It has been two weeks with out being under the stress of having class or having a final or having some crazy engineering project keeping me up at night. I am gearing up for a great hike in the Olympics and a sailing trip around the Olympic peninsula with my Uncle. Then I start up work in July at my engineering firm designing thermal systems (i.e. power plants, heating, AC units etc.). Its play time!!!

The X-Project lives!!!

The is our final product for our design. It was a lot of fun and MUCH!! work, but it is over now. We test drove it and it works great.

This is a top view (with out the top cover) of my electric drive system and battery pack. It came together well and works wonderful.

This meens that I GRADUATE on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you all soon.

X-Project

This is what I have been totally out of the loop for. I am developing a new form of transportation for our society at my school. This is dual-fuel vehicle that is setup to run on: methanol, E85 alcohol, gasoline, ethanol, or household electricity. We estimate about 100 or so miles to the gallon comparable to gasoline

With some further modification, it would also be able to run off of Hydrogen in either fuel cell or supercharged configuration. This car is an excellent platform for testing experimental vehicular power plants. I designed the drive train and the automation/control systems. This is the next generation hybrid.

The flaming Theta double dote is is a special symbol to us, because in our Machine design class this is a symbol for angular acceleration when used in differential equations for calculation of torque transmission. It was always the symbol that killed all of us on every test. So, we dubbed it the FLAMING THETA DOUBLE DOT OF DEATH!!!!!

My prayer closet

Today God put one of the most beautiful paintings before my eyes. Despite man's best efforts to make beauty, God wins all the time.

When I started to study engineering, I was worried that it would tarnish my appreciation for God's creative genius. You know, making what used to awe me into nothing more than formulas and numbers. Now, I know that was not the case at all. The only thing that has changed is that I can see more clearly the detailed strokes of his paint brush. I notice the perfect blend of science and art working together ever since creation. I can now see a little more of the mighty God we have. I can see that the most mundane, normal, or trivial thing God creates is still beyond our wildest dreams.

Truly my Thermo-Mechanical Engineering degree actually equates to nothing more than an art appreciation degree. All this time, I have actually been learning to become an avid admirer for the greatest artist of them all.

The Final Push!!!

This is it. The last two months of school. God has been the one who has taken me all this way. I praise him for what he has done in my life. I have a major (8 hour) exam next month. This will be hard, but will do it by God's strength.
